She has covered sports in many of the top outlets around the globe. Her time working at The Washington Post was spent covering numerous Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. In 2004, Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a period of nine years during which she was awarded two Emmy Awards and appeared on many of the network's most popular shows, such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Reporters were also on the sidelines, she was also a part of Monday Night Football. Then she moved on to CNN and Turner Sports.
